This story is about two young lovers, who were in extreme love with each other. Hero Mahesh Kumar (Avinash Shahi) is the son of a school master belonging to an upper middle class family. Heroine Suman (Chandani Chopra) is the daughter of a poor farmer.
Jovial (Anup Karan) is a happy go lucky fellow who sees to it that his friend Mahesh is always in a happy mood. Mahesh is the owner of the village general store. Mahesh is in love with Rajni (Kajal Nishat) who sells soft drinks on her mobile cart but Rajni has already given her soul and heart to great film star Shahid Kapoor, Film Star Shahid Kapoor's large photograph is the only decoration on her mobile cart.
One day on reaching home father tells son Mahesh that his letter has come from the city and he is to join the Company within 2 days. Mahesh is tensed as he will have to leave his house immeditly to be able to join the company, thus he has no time to inform his beloved Suman about his plans, but thinking about his future with Suman he decides to take the job immeditly and leaves.
Many days pass and Suman is sad, suman's sick father seeing her condition with great difficulty gets her married to a handicapped defence person Suresh Kumar (Rajiv Kumar)
After completing probation period Mahesh comes home to his village, is shocked to see Suman at his own house dressed as married women. Mahesh is unable to get time and place to clearify about this entire happening.
Some how Suresh feels some strange tensed atmosphere between Mahesh and Suman, whenever they come face to face - he makes enquires and comes to know about the love affair of Mahesh and Suman, Suresh realises the sorry condition of his own brother Mahesh and is unable to controll himself, commits suicide. Widow Suman after the death of her husband wishes to end her life. Suman cuts the nerve of her hand so that she can bleed to death but the effort of home people save her.
